The Export to AEC Wizard helps you prepare a SOLIDWORKS model so you can import it into AEC software. You can export SOLIDWORKS part and assembly files to the Polygon ® file format (.ply). You can export part and assembly files to STL (.stl), 3D Manufacturing Format (.3mf), or Additive Manufacturing File Format (.amf) format.
Import Diagnostics repairs imported models. Import diagnostics repairs faulty surfaces, knits repaired surfaces into closed bodies, and makes closed bodies into solids. You can distribute drawings and assemblies files to be viewed with the eDrawings Viewer. This reduces the number of visual properties created when you import files with appearances and saves time loading the imported models. The SOLIDWORKS software analyzes incoming colors and combines them when assigning them to a new SOLIDWORKS part or assembly.
